Formal Hanging Scrolls (Maru-Hyoso)

We mount fine art on hanging scrolls. This traditional suiboku artwork by Ryuzen Sa Murai is titled “Taiheiki: Lord Nitta Yoshisada of Genji and the Dragon”. It depicts a scene from the classic tale “Taiheiki”, in which the ocean tide miraculously recedes after Lord Nitta offers up his golden blade to the Dragon God. The rich ichinomonji brocade and pure silk mounting surrounding the artwork gives this scroll an appropriately elegant appearance.
